Colors of Escalante Workshop - Nov 4-8, 2025

The desert southwest is rich with photogenic geologic wonders. One of these is a large area known as Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. From canyons to viewpoints, we will visit and photograph many in the southern part of the monument, some lesser known or photographed.

Adrian Klein and Eric Bennett have experience in these areas, Eric even more so as a resident of Utah. We have spent time researching and scouting some of the best this area has to offer. We will be there to help with any questions, as our goal is for you to come home with a great experience and photos you are excited about. Our small group size allows for a great leader-to-participant ratio, not to mention fewer vehicles, allowing us to be nimble and flexible throughout the workshop.

This workshop will be suitable for any photography skill level, whether you are just getting started or have been at it for a long time. We are both well-experienced in teaching basic photo theory and camera settings. But really, what we are most passionate about is teaching our unique philosophies and approaches to nature photography, which will allow you to really think about what you are photographing to capture unique images regardless of the weather conditions.

Escalante offers more than just breathtaking geology and stunning scenery—it provides an abundance of space, stillness, and silence, inviting you to immerse yourself in the landscape free from distractions. While this remarkable area is ideal for all styles of nature photography, those who approach it mindfully, focusing on smaller, intimate scenes, will uncover countless extraordinary photographic opportunities. This is due to the designs, patterns, and colors provide endless interest and creative curiosity for nature photographers.

During this five-day workshop, we will guide you through the region, exploring both iconic landmarks that have earned their fame and secluded corners that few have ever visited. Our aim is to expose you to a diverse range of subjects while helping you refine your skills. You’ll learn to craft meaningful photographs that not only capture the essence of the landscape but also reflect your unique perspective.

With abundant vegetation, badlands, hoodoos, canyons, and more, Grand Staircase-Escalante is the perfect place to experiment and explore your creativity! Join us for this unique adventure where limited photo workshops can travel.
